As a child, I used to write my own stories and experiences into books. I knew I wanted to tell stories to an audience, but that never felt fulfilling enough for me. Yes, I shared my story multiple times through books that remain unseen, but there was always a question that lingered in my mind: What about everyone else? Whose job was it to write the stories of those who did not know how to tell their own? That's when I realized I wanted to tell people's stories, whether it be through my photography or my writing. However, I never took any action for years until I attended a concert by a local band called Walking Blue. I was amazed by their performance, and all I wanted to do was capture videos and pictures. In that moment, I knew I needed to stop waiting for something to come to me and take action. So, with no prior experience in concert photography or even a passion for it, I approached them and asked if I could take photos for their next gig. They said yes, and I am forever grateful to them. Soon after, I took photos for bands like Sauss, Widows, Caliber, and others.

There were a lot of ups and downs in this journey. Many times, I questioned if I was good enough or why I was even doing this. I wanted to quit because I felt I had no passion for what I was doing, but in reality, I was just scared. As I delved deeper into the world of concert photography, I encountered numerous challenges and triumphs that shaped my perspective and fueled my passion. Each gig, each interaction with a band or their manager, and each captured moment added a new layer of depth to my understanding of the power of storytelling through visuals.

I met many people through this journey, but one band stood out to me: The Okult. Their manager, Lauren, took a chance on me and asked me to take photos for them once. Now, I take photos for them regularly, and Lauren and I have become friends. This journey, with all its experiences, failures, and ups and downs, helped me realize that taking photos to experience music and to show people's passion through my photos is my true passion which was photography.

As my portfolio expanded and my connections within the local music scene grew, I found myself drawn to a profound realization: behind every melody, every lyric, and every chord lies a narrative waiting to be told. It was during one of my editing sessions for The Okult that inspiration struck in the form of a newspaper-style layout for their photos. In that moment, SoundShots was born—an platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of local bands. Telling people's stories is an art that one can only hope to perfect; it's about making sure people who can't be seen are heard, my mission extends beyond mere documentation; It's made to shed light on local bands doing what they love: making music. Its all about shared human experience, from intimate acoustic sets to electrifying stadium performances, SoundShots endeavors to capture the essence of live music in all its raw and unfiltered glory. But perhaps more importantly, we seek to foster a sense of community and connection among music enthusiasts, storytellers, and artists alike

One thing music and journalism have in common is telling stories, whether they're about friends, exes, family—good or bad. The only difference is that musicians express their experiences in a four-minute song, using words that cannot be spoken but sung into sentences and put into rhythm and beat. SoundShots will tell the stories of local bands. To be able to tell people's stories is my passion, the very thing I have been dreaming of since I was a child. SoundShots will explore many aspects that go behind the scenes, such as managers, different artists after albums, or the bands as a whole. We will capture the essence of live music and what it means to people. We will not only talk about the bands but also the icons behind them, diving deep into the roles of managers, photographers, and the processes involved in making an album.

I hope you will join me on this journey to experience how music can bring people together and tell their stories, together, we celebrate the universal language of music and the timeless art of storytelling. Through SoundShots, may we continue to bridge the gap between dreams and reality, one snapshot at a time.
